CAPIC Welcomes Our New Executive Director, Patrick Petti, Ph.D.

16 June 2007

Dear Psychology Training Community:

On behalf of the CAPIC Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to introduce Patrick Petti, Ph.D. as the new Executive Director of the California Psychology Internship Council. Dr. Petti has assumed his duties as of July 1, 2007.

Dr. Petti is no stranger to CAPIC. He has served on the CAPIC Board of Directors from 2002 to 2006 and was the Board’s Treasurer and later the Secretary. During these years, he, along with other Board members, provided guidance and assistance that led CAPIC through rapid growth, including expansion to a statewide organization and national visibility as a model training organization in professional psychology. Additionally, Dr. Petti brings a tremendous amount of experience into the CAPIC Executive Director role. As the past Director of Training at Alliant International University/CSPP San Francisco, he has developed positive relationships with countless students, faculty, staff, training directors, and training organizations over the years. The Board indeed feels fortunate that Dr. Petti has agreed to lead CAPIC at this time.

CAPIC is once again facing a time of potential growth and development as an organization. We feel confident that his vision and leadership will further propel CAPIC forward and that he will work diligently to strengthen our membership and the organization. Please join with us in welcoming him to his position.

I would like to thank the Dr. Melodie Schaefer, Chair of the Search Committee, and all the Board members for their extra help and support on this search and during this past year. I would also like to thank all of you, our membership, for your patience and continued belief in CAPIC.

Sincerely,

April D. Fernando, Ph.D.

Chair, CAPIC Board of Directors
