Valerie B. Jordan, PhD

Dr. Jordan has been a Professor of Psychology at the University of La Verne since 1982, and has served as the Program Chair for their APA accredited Psy.D program in Clinical-Community Psychology, as Internship Coordinator for the Psy.D program, and as the founding director and clinical supervisor for the ULV Counseling Center. This range of experience in teaching, clinical and administrative roles has provided her with a broad range of expertise pertaining to doctoral education and clinical training.

Dr. Jordan received her PhD at the City University of New York, completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Wright Institute in Los Angeles, and a certificate in Gerontology from CSU Fullerton. Dr. Jordan has been a California licensed psychologist since 1981 and has maintained a private practice specializing in psychotherapy with adults and older adults. She is a member of the California Psychological Association Ethics Committee and MCEP Committee, and is an expert reviewer for the California Board of Psychology.

Dr. Jordan served on the CAPIC board from 2001 to 2007, and rejoined the board in 2011 because of her commitment to promote CAPIC's mission as a regional leader for training professional psychologists, and to participate in the conversation concerning the future of clinical training both in California and nationally.
