Jan L. Fisher, PhD

A graduate of the Institute Transpersonal Psychology, Jan Fisher, Ph.D, is on the faculty at ITP as Assistant Professor, Chair of the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology program, and Director of Clinical Training.

She has formerly served as the Director of the Creative Expression specialization and as Assistant Dean. In addition, Jan has a private practice in Mountain View, working with individual adults and groups as a transpersonally-oriented psychologist and expressive arts therapist.

Jan supports clients in the practice of Authentic Movement, long-term depth work, and working with issues of shyness, anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, relationship concerns, caregiver demands, and spiritual exploration. In her research, Jan has explored the experience of dance as a spiritual practice.

Other areas of research interest are creative expression, movement/dance, and clinical psychology. Her expertise in methodologies includes phenomenology, organic inquiry, feminist, integral inquiry, intuitive inquiry, and using creative expression in data collection, analysis or presentation.
